How to choose a Houston realtor who will tell you the truth

Houston is not one market. The useful Houston realtor is the one who can tell you which street still ponds after a storm — and which listing photo is doing too much work.

Start with the street, not the brand

A Houston realtor who leads with a logo and a production number is selling a brochure. Ask instead: which zip codes they walk every week, whether they will meet you on a Sunday evening, and how they talk about flood, foundations, and HOA rules without hedging.

GO-M Realty works Greater Houston as several markets — inside the loop, Katy, Cypress, Sugar Land, The Woodlands — and keeps Sofi Lakes in Katy as the flagship new-home community we will walk first if west Houston is the brief.

Questions that actually sort the desk

Ask who holds the broker license. Ask who shows. Ask whether live inventory is IDX or a scraped gallery. Ask for a recent street they would not buy — and why. The answer should be specific.
